Meet The Owner
Sally Geftakys, the owner of Monday Bakery, knew she was onto her future career path when she couldn't stop making rice krispie treats in the microwave of her college dorm. After graduating from Gonzaga University (Go Zags!) with a music degree, she began her culinary career in Seattle, WA. It was there that she learned the art of the molten chocolate cake at Hot Cakes Confections. From there she moved to Napa and received a culinary education at the Culinary Institute of America, Greystone. Upon graduation, she worked at a couple of well-known restaurants in the Valley, including The Thomas and Fagiani's (now closed) and Ad Hoc. Through working for many amazing chefs, Sally cultivated a desire to open her own business. Monday Bakery marries her love for classic desserts and her constant creativity as well as her passion for local ingredients combined with unique flavor pairings. She constantly strives to provide customers with a high quality product and a reason to look forward to Mondays. In her (very rare) spare time, she enjoys going for long hikes with her beautiful dogs Obi, a golden retriever and Prince, a pittbull. She enjoys watching Seahawks football games, being dragged to every Marvel movie by her husband, Matt and relaxing with a glass of bubbles.
